Curious as to whether the myTouch 3G Slide might be the QWERTYsmartphone for you? Check out the full review over at Android Community.

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide has a 3.4-inch HVGA touchscreen together with dualband 3G UMTS/HSPA, WiFi b/g, quadband GSM and Bluetooth. As well as the hardware keyboard there’s Swype pre-loaded, while a tap of the “Genius” button is all it takes to get your SMS messages read out or the phone to respond to voice commands.

Nokia N97 Mini Also Suffers from Death Grip Issue- Apple

Apple’s Smartphone Antenna Performance page, which aims to show that other phones besides iPhone 4 suffer from signal loss when held in a certain way, originally didn’t mention Nokia.

However, that didn’t stop Nokia from issuing a statement, claiming that antenna performance has always been a high priority for them. As Nokia put it, “Nokia has invested thousands of man hours in studying human behavior, including how people hold their phones for calls, music playing, web browsing and so on. As you would expect from a company focused on connecting people, we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict.”

Now, Apple silently answered Nokia by adding a video which shows that Nokia N97 mini, when held a certain way, also shows significant signal loss. Grip the phone in a weak signal area, Apple claims, and it can drop from 7 to 2 bars. Check out the video below.

NOKIA C6

Nokia C6, which as you may know has been unveiled alongside two other QWERTY phones – C3 and E5, has been spotted at Nokia’s UK website from where interested users can grab it for 289 GBP. That’s kinda too steep, as we (and AllAboutSymbian) expected a price that’s closer to 220-230 GBP, but what do we know.

Anyways, if you’re looking for a perfect Symbian smartphone, the C6 is probably the closest you will get. By perfect I mean a device that has both a touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard.Sony Ericsson’s Vivaz Pro is also a phone worth considering for that matter.

The Nokia C6′s features include a 3.2-inch nHD (640×360 pixels) touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, GPS, 434MHz CPU, 3.5mm headset jack, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth and a microSD expansion slot (inside the box you get a 2GB card). In other words, you can think of it as slightly reshaped Nokia N97 with a much better and easier to use keyboard…

teacher beats student

Houston, Texas, students first thought they were seeing a joke, at first – but when a teacher beats a student, it’s no joke. The teacher beating a student was caught on tape with a student’s cell phone, and it has caused outrage as well as school district and police department investigations. The teacher has been fired and will have to use quick personalians for her legal representation, if she is charged. Either way, the “teacher beats student” question is raising blood pressures across the nation.

The incident of Houston, Texas teacher, Sheri Davis, raises a lot of questions. On Monday night, Davis was fired for beating a student at Jamie’s House Charter School. Other students present at the time of the beating caught the incident on tape with their cell phones. It was only after the release of the tape that school admin got the real facts and fired the teacher. She’s now, quite justly, under investigation for criminal charges as well. The tape explains it all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wxp7JIAmeaI&feature=player_embedded Read the rest of this entry »
